Professional Tattoo Removal in Sydney

Laser Tattoo Removal utilises the unique physics of a Q switch Laser technology to send extremely high powered, ultra pulses of laser light into the skin. These laser pules are absorbed by the ink particles and are shattered because of the speed and power levels involved. These smaller shattered particles are now small enough to pass through the skin and are then removed by the body’s lymphatic system. Treating body art no bigger than a A6 page at one time for best results.

Carbon dioxide is released as a result of laser penetration and surfaces on the upper layer of the skin, which resembles a white frosting. In the vast majority of cases, this only lasts for 15-30 minutes after treatment. It is a temporary side effect, which is perfectly normal.

How does the skin look after the treatment?

An instant whitening of skin is seen after treatment, but this generally fades quickly. The area is likely to feel tender for a few hours and can be red and swollen for up to 48hours.

How many treatments are necessary?

This depends on several factors, the density and colour of the inks and the age of the tattoo. It can take 3 to 10 treatments 6 weeks apart. Aftercare is very important to minimize any complication .

Are there any side effects?

Very rarely the skin may become lighter or darker, or a small blister may form depending on sensitivity. If aftercare is not followed superficial white scar may form, which may take months to subside.

How Does the treatment feel?

Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a hot prick or the flick of an elastic band. Whilst mildly uncomfortable, most people tolerate treatment well.
